Tuesday Takeover: Samara Terrill

Let me introduce you to someone who shines like the brightest star in the sky, one of my most friendly friends Samara Terrill. I’ve been fortunate enough to know her since high school when we both served as hostesses as Olive Garden and over the years watch her bloom into a mom of 2 boys and a Wealth Manager for Synergy Wealth Management. She’s as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside and her happiness and positivism is infectious. Looking forward to learning a few fashion lessons from the sweet Samara Terrill this Tuesday Takeover.

Hello Friends! I am thrilled that Katherine asked me to join her today! A little known fact about me, is I was an operations manager for a high end women's boutique in Houston, before I became a wealth manager. Managing a clients portfolio or their wardrobe is not all that different. They both require an intimate knowledge of their finances, goals, expectations, and the ability to customize it to their personality. I am here to tell you, no matter where you are in your career - you can dress professionally, show your personality, and maybe even stumble into a trend or two.

Spring is here, and everywhere you turn a wrap dress can be found! This Nine West dress is so easy to wear! Often wrap dresses require a camisole, because they end up being too low cut. Not this one! It has a soft flutter sleeve, tie waistline and a faux wrap; (which proves useful walking to and from on a windy day.) This dress is calming, sure to help any client feel comfortable, comes in other colors (including black), a few prints and affordable! You can also go bold, by adding a statement necklace and fun heels.

When building your wardrobe, there are definitely a few items you'll want to invest in. These items are building blocks. Shoes, no matter the gender - a lot can be told by their shoes! A skin colored shoe will help elongate your legs, making you look taller. It also goes with anything, which makes packing for trips nice too! And you guessed it, you will also want to get a great black heel to go with that black power suit!

Black heels brings me to my second look! Find a pair of black pants that you look and feel great in! Bonus if it has a jacket available! (Building blocks!) Even if your career doesn't call for one, it's always fun to throw it on with jeans and a fun top on a chilly night, or with a dress to give add the finishing touch. These black pants are from Gianni Bini, which is always wonderful quality! The slim fit and high rise is flattering, while the twill has a give for comfort and ease. The elastic in the waistband was a welcome surprise accompanied by the zipper in the center back.

A pair of black pants you love can give you so many different styles when paired with different tops and shoes. Find yourself a great black pants you love, and don't be afraid to spend a little bit of money - you'll get your money's worth!

Tops are where you can add so much personality through color and style. I love a good animal print, and this snake skin button up blouse gives a little extra energy to what could be a basic blouse. Tie-front blouses are also on-trend, which this blouse gives a subtle nod to, but could also be tucked away. This top has a lot of life in it too! I can't wait to wear it with my red shorts and sandles on the weekend with my boys, or with jeans out to dinner with my husband!

Part of confidence is feeling your best in an outfit. So when investing in your wardrobe don't settle for just anything, and know the number on the inside means absolutely nothing. Search for the outfit that when you see yourself in the mirror, you have the look that shatters glass ceilings.
