Tuesday Takeover: Diana Riner

Let me introduce the sweet and spicy Diana Riner to Takeover Tuesday. I know her as an old friend from law school that I have watched bloom through social media. In the past 14 years, she's become a mama to 2 and General Counsel for a company in Georgia. Aside from her professional growth, she's most recently acheived #weightlossgoals (lost 80+ lbs) and is paying it forward as a health coach at @dknlaw. Inspired by her transformation and style, let me pass the mic to the sweetest Georgia peach I know, Diana Riner.

Hello, Maz Mavens! I felt so honored when Katherine reached out to me about doing a Takeover Tuesday. We met in law school, and I have always admired her style and grit. She is a fierce fashionista, and I am so excited to watch Maz Modern grow!

I am a wife, boy-mom of 2, and in-house counsel with SUEZ, which is based in Paris. My office is in my home state of Georgia, and I have been in my current position for almost a decade. Time flies! I also recently joined the SUEZ North America Diversity & Inclusion Council, and so far I have helped sponsor and develop events around December holiday traditions around the world, and International Women’s Day. I always look for ways to become more involved and help my company become a better corporate citizen!

Classy & a bit Sassy

My most recent venture has been into the world of health coaching. Over the past year, I have lost 85 pounds, and I am now paying that gift forward by helping others so if I can help you with your health goals DM me on IG at @dknlaw. Hello, new wardrobe! I literally had to get rid of everything in my closet and start over. Having been through lots of sizes in my adult life and even in the last year, it is always my goal to find the most stylish and complimentary attire for my current body type. I am also a lover of a great deal and supporting local shops. I would classify my style as classy and a little bit sassy!

I found this fabulous jumpsuit at Express after seeing one of Katherine’s style tip posts on Facebook late last year. Express has really stepped up their game in the professional-attire arena! The blazer keeps it classy for the office, but the faux-leather inserts and stylish cut makes this a game-changer for date night. My husband’s jaw dropped when I walked out in this jumpsuit! I paired it with my classic black Nine West Tatiana stilettos, which are my go-to with their great quality and wide variety of colors.

Since I am in-house counsel, I am not tied to any courtroom rules as far as professional attire. Currently, we are working remotely part time, as our office is not yet at full capacity due to COVID-19. When I am in the office, I am generally tied up in meetings for most of the day, either 1-on-1 or in a large group. On my days stacked with meetings, I like to wear something comfortable yet professional, that can easily transition to an evening date-night or cocktail with the girls if necessary.

Having been through several sizes in the past year, I have worked hard to find things that work for where I am as far as body shape and size. I have always been curvy, and it is important to me to find things that compliment my shape yet keep it classy. Since I am constantly on my feet and running around when I’m in the office, I love a comfortable and stylish pair of boots paired with a cozy sweater dress. I frequently add my classic set of pearls, which is a truly southern touch.

Southern Comfort

I found this sweater dress at a local boutique called B Monroe Boutique, run by my stylish friend Nicole Brewer! The boutique is named after her adorable daughter, Blake Monroe. My pearls are from J.C. Grant Co. Jewelers, which is a local jewelry store in my hometown of Milledgeville, GA – also the location of my first job, the summer after high school! Final pro tip - I have incorporated blue light blocking glasses into my life as a result of being on Zoom so much these days, and I have definitely noticed a reduction in eye strain!

A Note On Makeup:
I thought I would share a few of my tried-and true makeup go-tos that I’ve found over the years. Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation and Shape Tape concealer have become my daily go-tos for their lasting coverage and the company’s commitment to being paraben, mineral oil, and phthalate free. I absolutely LOVE Becca bronzer, in Champagne Pop – it brings brightness to my complexion the morning, after long evenings of 8th-grade homework assistance and chasing a 2 year old! I actually found Becca bronzer after seeing a profile on Michelle Obama’s makeup artist, and who wouldn’t want Michelle’s glow?! My favorite mascara is Benefit’s They’re Real. As a redhead, mascara is a definite requirement for office or Zoom, and after trying many companies and formulas, Benefit’s is my fave!
